CUPA Group was founded in 1968 by the union of several Spanish slate producers who decided to combine their efforts in the extraction and production of slate. Six years later, in order to meet the growing worldwide demand for natural slate and with the entrance of new partners the company transformed into CUPIRE PADESA. In 2006 CUPIRE changed its name to CUPA Group.
Today, the group comprises more than 40 companies, all of which are related to the construction industry and its associated services. The group employs 1,300 people.
