The CUPA Group is the world's principal slate producer, selling more than 125,000 tons of slate abroad. The global presence of the company has its roots in the extraordinary purity of the slate that is extracted from its quarries, as well as in the systematic quality controls undergone by each piece of slate produced.

The CUPA group has been extremely proactive in the area of continuous improvement, and it is precisely through our desire to offer the highest quality product that the company has achieved its position as world leader in the sector.

All quarries currently operated by the CUPA Group are endorsed in those countries where such authorisation is mandatory. Our compliance with norm ISO 9001:2000 (certified by AENOR) certifies our quality management system.

CUPA Engineering Service Ltd. (a company within the group) is responsible for geological studies, geo-technical analyses, prospecting, sampling, seam evaluation, and the direction of quarrying.

In order to control the quality of our production, regular quality tests are carried out. These tests are done in certified laboratories in the countries to which we export. However, in order to offer the finest quality slate, CUPA Group's own laboratories carry out additional tests as part of our internal quality control system.

CUPA Group's quality system works under the premise of continuous improvement thanks to the feedback extrapolated from customer satisfaction surveys. External tests and revisions to our quality system also enable us to continually improve our processes.
